What is The Little Gym Godalming?
The Little Gym Godalming runs 30 fun, engaging and active gymnastics classes a week for children aged from tiny babies to somersaulting tweens. But we are so much more than just a gymnastics club.

We are a gymnastics programme that uses movement as a vehicle for whole-child development – developing children’s gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and social and emotional skills through the excitement of gymnastics.

We are a happy, positive family business. Our mission is to help children feel successful through gymnastics, to grow and learn at their own pace, and build children’s confidence by giving them an opportunity to fly around the Gym and explore what they are capable of.

Our classes are attended by both naturally athletic children looking for the next challenge, and also children that are still finding their moving mojo, working on their coordination and gross motor skills.

Children focus on doing their best, not comparing themselves to others. And we celebrate every unique achievement.

Our member families come from far and wide to attend our classes — Godalming, Guildford, Chiddingfold, Haslemere, Liphook, Milford, Witley, Farncombe, Bramley, Cranleigh and even as far as Portsmouth.

It’s common for families to travel up to an hour to give their children an opportunity to attend our classes at The Little Gym Godalming.

What makes The Little Gym Godalming different?
The Little Gym Godalming isn’t just about gymnastics. We’re all about using gymnastics and adventurous movement as a powerful tool to build confident, capable kids.

While the equipment and skills are fun (and yes, your child will get seriously good at cartwheels), what we’re really focused on is the whole child: their confidence, their ability to listen and follow instructions, their willingness to try something that feels a bit scary, and their sense of “I can do this.” Building courage, confidence & self-belief.

Every class is designed around your child’s actual age and stage, not a one-size-fits-all approach. What a tw0-year-old needs to learn is completely different from what a three-year-old needs, so our curriculum shifts as they grow — from their very first class right through to starting high school.

Our teachers make the difference. They’re great at teaching gymnastics skills, but they’re also trained in child development so they understand how kids learn, the different approaches required in every age group, and how to gently coax a shy child into having a go without pushing. That combination of skill-building and genuinely understanding how children grow is what makes classes feel supportive rather than just instructional.

Critically, we keep classes small and consistent, and we get to know every child. Your child isn’t just another kid in a big group. They’re known, they’re encouraged by name, and they build real trust in their environment.

We build confidence in the Gym that shows up everywhere else too — school, sports, relationships, and life!

What qualifications do your teachers have?
Many of our teachers have degrees – Sports, Dance, Psychology, Communications. You name it, we’re an accomplished bunch.

We also have decades of experience coaching gymnastics, dance, cheer, and related sports. Some of our teachers also have experience within the education sector.

We teach at The Little Gym Godalming because we want to use our unique expertise to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

All of our teachers are trained in child development – the building blocks of children’s physical, neurological, cognitive, social and emotional development.

Did you know?: Our senior teachers regularly train classroom teachers at local primary schools in the link between children’s bodies and academic success, in addition to training primary school teaching students at The University of East London in sports, education and child development

Do you enter children in competitions?
No, we do not enter children in competitions. We create a non-competitive environment where every child can thrive, enjoy moving and challenge themselves at the right level for them… as an individual.

Every child is different, and we believe that growing through gymnastics — and being your best — matters more for under-eights than competing to be the best.

In fact, up to age 12, athletic development experts agree that broad movement exposure and the chance to build body, brain, social and emotional skills through gymnastics lays a better foundation for competitive sports success later on than specialising in one sport too early. Just ask leading sports clubs in the UK, like Brentford FC, who champion multi-sport movement foundations in youth development.

Is The Little Gym Godalming right for my child if they aren’t very interested in sports? Can you help get my child moving and boost their courage to participate?
Yes! It’s absolutely perfect, definitely contact us. We’re great at helping even the most reluctant movers to giggle as they get a little bit wild in the Gym.

Our teachers adore encouraging a love of sports and movement in all children, regardless of whether they are keen movers or a little bit more reserved. Each class is fun, active, and full of laugh-out-loud moments.

And our teachers are engaging, funny and enthusiastic. We sing, we dance, and we’re silly. Children deserve to have FUN in their gymnastics classes!

Most of our families come because they want their child to be active, confident, and socially engaged in a warm, nurturing environment. Gymnastics is the tool we use; the goal is a happy, capable child. Cartwheels and somersaults to show off in the playground are a huge bonus!

What age groups do you serve at The Little Gym Godalming?
We welcome children from 10-weeks old all the way to 12-years-old. We tailor learning to every age group, from our tiny babies all the way through to older beginners and advanced gymnasts.

Our classes are organised into carefully designed age groups to maximise skill development and whole-child learning: Pre-Bugs (10-15 weeks), Bugs (4–9 months), Birds (10-18 months), Beasts (19-29 months), Super Beasts (30-36 months), Funny Bugs (3 years), Giggle Worms (4 years), Good Friends (5 years), plus beginner, intermediate and advanced gymnastics classes for children aged 6–12 years.

What benefits do you provide to families – is it just a class a week?
As Little Gym teachers, we thrive on your child’s development and success. We love it. It’s why we come to work every day.

All our benefits are designed to help you use the classes you’ve paid for and maximise your child’s time in the Gym. Your child’s learning & happiness comes first. That makes us happy.

We’ve outlined our three most popular benefits below.

No More Missed Classes | Make-Up Policy | All Ages
You won’t be able to attend every class – sickness, weddings, holidays… that’s all real life. But we don’t want your child to lose their class because you can’t make it. We’ll save it for you!

We call it our ‘Make-Up Policy’ – never lose a class again!

Let us know before 9am on the day of your child’s class (or weeks ahead, if you’ve an event in the diary) and we’ll save your child’s class to use another time. You can even switch baked classes for holiday camps, or gift them to friends.

Free sessions in Half-Terms, Easter & Christmas (All Ages)
We don’t charge you for a class in Half-Terms, Easter & Christmas. What we do instead is offer your child a free session if they’re going to be in town & not away on holiday. A extra opportunity to have more learning and fun with their teachers.

Tumble Time | 4 & Under (not yet at school)
We run three free Tumble Time sessions a week for children attending our classes. Attend all of them, or none of them. If you can’t fit any in, nothing lost as they’re genuinely free.

Occasional Member Drop Ins | Under 3s
Designed for our Under 3s to support their development in their critical early years, our occasional member drop in gives children a chance to sneak in an extra session every now and then.

If you’ve a day working from home, or just need some extra support that day, give us a call. If we can sneak you in for an extra class as a freebie to help, we will.

How do you keep my child safe?
We are a rare thing in the Gymnastics world – Ofsted-registered. We voluntarily register with Ofsted because your child comes first.

Ofsted-registration means we need to consistently demonstrate best practice in relation to safeguarding, teaching, learning, and many other areas.

Our teachers undergo a rigorous safer recruitment process prior to joining our team, and all of our teaches have extended DBS certificates.

We invest heavily in training.

As standard, our teachers have safeguarding training, paediatric first aid, food safety, fire and a variety of other courses.

Every one of our teachers also trains for four hours every week to continue enhancing their gymnastics coaching and child development expertise.

Can I stay and watch my child’s class?
Absolutely! We’d love for you to stay.

We have a stunning parents lounge with a floor to ceiling glass wall designed for parents to watch while they’re having a free tea or coffee.

Sit on the sofa, grab a chair, use our free Wifi to get some life admin or work done, or sun yourself with a book in the back garden. You do you!

Parents are an important part of the learning journey. Our teachers share information after every class on what your child has been learning and why.

What is your pricing?
What would you expect to pay for Ofsted-registered gymnastics classes that are taught by degree qualified teachers that also specialise in child development?

Classes that you can save with our Make-Up Policy so you never miss a session due to family events, holidays, or overnight sickness?
